Understanding PRP

Your blood holds powerful regenerative tools — PRP concentrates them and puts them to work on skin and hair.

What is Advanced PRP / PRF treatment, and how does it work?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses the healing properties of your own blood to promote tissue repair and rejuvenation. A small blood sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma — a fraction packed with growth factors and bioactive substances that stimulate cellular regeneration and collagen production. From the same draw we can also prepare PRF (platelet-rich fibrin), a fibrin-rich fraction that releases its growth factors more gradually — your clinician chooses the preparation that suits what is being treated.

When injected into the face, PRP improves skin texture and tone and supports natural anti-ageing; when injected into the scalp, it stimulates hair follicles and encourages growth. It is entirely natural because it uses your own plasma. At Rejuvena we use WorldPRP™ — a medical-grade, patented system with a unique hourglass-shaped tube that produces PRP of exceptional quality and purity — all delivered by a GMC-registered, doctor-led team.

Advanced PRP

Not all PRP is the same

Platelet-rich plasma is only as good as the way it is prepared. While many PRP systems focus primarily on concentrating platelets, the quality of the final preparation also depends on platelet recovery, purity and preserving healthy, viable platelets throughout the process.

97%+PRP purity

What that means for you

  • No separation gels or acrylates — physical design only
  • The buffy coat is collected, not discarded
  • PRP, PRF, PPP or buffy coat, chosen per indication
  • Your own blood only — nothing donated or synthetic
  1. Engineered for recovery and purity

At Rejuvena we use the patented WorldPRP™ system because it has been specifically engineered to maximise platelet recovery while producing an exceptionally pure platelet-rich plasma with minimal contamination from red blood cells. Unlike conventional gel-based tubes, it relies purely on its unique patented physical design to separate blood components — eliminating the need for separation gels or acrylates.

  2. The patented hourglass chamber

The hourglass-shaped chamber is central to this process. During centrifugation it allows the blood components to separate gently, helping to protect the delicate platelets from unnecessary mechanical stress. That enables the collection of a high yield of viable platelets together with the valuable buffy coat — a preparation rich in naturally occurring growth factors that support tissue repair, collagen production and regeneration.

  3. The useful platelet dose

Rather than simply measuring platelet concentration, the system is designed to maximise the total number of platelets actually delivered to the treatment area. Depending on the preparation protocol, WorldPRP™ can provide approximately 3 to 9 billion platelets, substantially increasing the quantity of growth factors available to support skin rejuvenation and hair restoration.

  4. PRP, PRF, PPP or buffy coat — chosen for your skin

The system also lets your clinician selectively prepare different plasma fractions — platelet-rich plasma (PRP), platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), platelet-poor plasma (PPP) and the buffy coat — each containing different concentrations of platelets and bioactive proteins. Your treatment is tailored to the clinical indication rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all preparation.

Every preparation at Rejuvena is performed under the supervision of our doctor-led team using only your own blood — no synthetic fillers, donor products or foreign biological materials.

Rejuvena signature treatment

Glow & Grow — CoolLaser + PRP in one session

Our signature combination. We gently resurface your skin with the CoolLaser, then use your own PRP two ways in the same appointment — applied over freshly-resurfaced skin for glow, and injected into the scalp for hair growth. One visit, skin and hair together.

  1. CoolGlow resurfacing

Gentle CoolLaser resurfacing refreshes the skin surface and primes it to absorb what comes next.

  2. Your growth factors, prepared

A small blood draw is spun in the WorldPRP™ system to concentrate your platelet-rich plasma.

  3. PRP to the scalp

Injected along the hairline to stimulate follicles and support healthier hair growth.

  4. PRP to face & neck

Applied over the freshly-resurfaced skin for a natural, lit-from-within glow.

Is it right for you?

PRP (Face) suits adults who want a natural, regenerative approach to skin rejuvenation using their own plasma rather than synthetic products. It is well suited to those noticing early signs of ageing, dullness, uneven texture or mild loss of firmness, and to people who prefer a treatment with minimal foreign substances. Suitability is always confirmed with our doctor-led team at consultation.

When it isn’t suitable

PRP is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have certain blood disorders, active skin infections, or conditions affecting clotting or platelet function. It may also be unsuitable alongside some medications or if you have an active inflammatory or autoimmune condition. Dr Nick's team will review your medical history and advise if PRP is not appropriate for you.

Your safety

Safety, side effects & what to expect

PRP uses only your own plasma, so there is no risk of an allergic reaction to a foreign substance, and at Rejuvena it is prepared and injected by a GMC-registered, doctor-led team. Mild redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection sites can occur and typically settles within a day or two. To reduce side effects, we advise staying hydrated and avoiding anti-inflammatories and alcohol beforehand as directed. Results build gradually over several weeks to months, and a course gives the best, longest-lasting outcome.

Individual results vary and are not guaranteed. Treatments are provided only after a consultation and medical assessment. This information is educational and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
