Laser scar treatment for the handIn this clip our practitioner guides a laser handpiece precisely over a scar on the back of the hand, resurfacing the marked skin and stimulating fresh collagen as it heals. Hands take a lot of wear, so scars here can feel stubborn and visible, yet they respond well to targeted laser work. At our doctor-led Bedford clinic every scar is assessed in person first, so your treatment is matched to your skin and the scar itself.Book a consultation ›
Laser treatment for a C-section scarIn this clip, Dr Nick guides a laser handpiece over a patient's C-section scar, resurfacing the raised, stubborn tissue that so many mums are left self-conscious about. Doctor-led laser scar treatment works to soften the scar's texture and blend its colour with the surrounding skin, helping it look flatter and far less noticeable over a course of sessions. It is a considered, medical approach to even the most established scars, carried out personally by a GMC-registered doctor at our Bedford clinic.Book a consultation ›
Understanding scars

Scars can't always be erased — but modern treatments can dramatically improve their texture, colour and visibility.

Scar Treatment — Rejuvena Clinic Bedford

What are scars, and can they be improved?

Scars form as part of the skin's natural healing process after injury, surgery, acne or inflammation. How a scar looks depends on factors such as its depth, location, your skin type and how the wound healed.

While scars cannot always be removed completely, modern treatments can significantly improve their texture, colour and visibility. At Rejuvena in Bedford, our doctor-led team uses advanced laser resurfacing, radiofrequency microneedling and skin-needling to remodel scar tissue and stimulate fresh collagen. A consultation and skin analysis with our GMC-registered GP help us match the right approach to your specific scar type.

Fractional laser to smooth scar textureIn this clip our practitioner glides the CoolLaser handpiece across the cheek, its fine fractional grid and red aiming beam visible on the skin as it resurfaces the surface in tiny controlled columns. This is the work behind laser scar revision: improving skin texture and softening the appearance of scarring by prompting fresh collagen as the skin heals. Every treatment at our Bedford clinic is doctor-led, with Dr Nick overseeing settings tailored to your scar and skin.Book a consultation ›

What our patients say

As a battle-scarred rugby veteran, I may be considered an unlikely candidate for aesthetic skin treatment. However after many years of suffering venous leg ulceration, treated at considerable time and cost to the NHS, a trusted health professional suggested I try laser treatment to supplement my body's own healing process. Soon after starting treatment at Rejuvena Clinic Bedford, I found remarkably rapid healing of stubborn chronic ulcers and have a very positive view of success over the course of my treatment. Thanks to you, Dr. Nick!

Is it right for you?

Scar treatment suits adults who want to improve the texture, colour or visibility of acne, surgical, traumatic, burn or raised scars and who have realistic expectations about what is achievable. It is well suited to people whose scars have fully matured and who are ready to commit to a course of treatment, as collagen remodelling develops over several weeks to months. A consultation and skin analysis with our GMC-registered GP confirms the right approach for your scar type and skin.

When it isn’t suitable

It may not be suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on very recent or unhealed wounds, or where there is active skin infection in the treatment area. Caution applies for those prone to keloid scarring, with certain photosensitising medications, recent isotretinoin use, or active inflammatory skin conditions at the site. Suitability for each laser, RF microneedling or needling option is assessed individually at your medical consultation, and some scars cannot be removed completely.

Your safety

Safety, side effects & what to expect

All treatments are carried out following a doctor-led assessment, so the chosen modality and settings are matched to your skin type and scar. Common, temporary side effects include redness, mild swelling, warmth and sensitivity, and resurfacing or RF microneedling can involve a short recovery period that we explain fully beforehand. Less commonly, there may be temporary pigment change, particularly in darker skin tones, which is why patch suitability and skin analysis are important. Following the aftercare advice given by Dr Nick and Lana, including diligent sun protection, helps reduce risks and supports the best results.

Individual results vary and are not guaranteed. Treatments are provided only after a consultation and medical assessment. This information is educational and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
