Understanding the Perfect Peel

A medical-grade peel built around glutathione — resurfacing the skin while brightening from the inside out.

Perfect Peels — Rejuvena Clinic Bedford

What is The Perfect Peel®, and how does it work?

The Perfect Peel® is a medical-grade chemical peel that combines powerful ingredients to exfoliate the skin and promote cellular renewal. It works by removing the damaged outer layers of skin so that fresh, healthier cells come through — improving tone, texture, clarity and firmness in one treatment.

What sets it apart is glutathione — a master antioxidant that brightens the skin, reduces pigmentation and protects against free-radical damage — combined with TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, kojic acid, phenol and vitamin C. Together they target hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne and acne scarring, sun damage and fine lines. At Rejuvena it's performed by a GMC-registered GP with a special interest in dermatology, so it's matched carefully to your skin.

The Perfect Peel is our go-to for stubborn pigmentation and melasma. The glutathione really lifts the tone — but because it's a true medical peel, proper assessment and aftercare matter, which is why we keep it doctor-led.

Is it right for you?

The Perfect Peel suits adults wanting a noticeable improvement in tone, clarity and texture from a single medical-grade treatment, particularly those troubled by pigmentation, melasma, sun damage, acne or acne scarring. It can be appropriate across a range of skin types, including deeper Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin tones, when assessed correctly beforehand. A consultation with our team confirms whether it is the right peel for your skin, history and goals.

When it isn’t suitable

It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on active skin infections, broken or inflamed skin, eczema or dermatitis in the treatment area, or for those with a known allergy to any of the peel ingredients such as salicylates or aspirin. Recent isotretinoin use, recent sunburn, or a history of keloid scarring may mean it is unsuitable or needs to be deferred. Anyone with melasma or a deeper skin tone needs careful assessment first, as advised by Dr Nick at consultation, and you should avoid retinoids and sun exposure beforehand.

Your safety

Safety, side effects & what to expect

The Perfect Peel is applied in clinic in around 30 minutes with no needles and no anaesthetic; you may feel warmth or mild tingling during application. Light to moderate peeling usually begins around day 3 and continues for several days as fresh skin emerges, so some redness, dryness, tightness and visible flaking are expected and temporary. To support healthy healing, keep the skin moisturised, avoid picking the peeling skin, and use diligent sun protection throughout. Doctor-led assessment and a take-home aftercare kit help reduce the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, especially in deeper skin tones.

Individual results vary and are not guaranteed. Treatments are provided only after a consultation and medical assessment. This information is educational and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
